During my 11+ years teaching, I was quickly promoted to Head of Year for a 2 year period where I further developed and refined my management skills through effectively recruiting, leading and performance managing 6 members of staff. Target setting, assessing and effective planning. Promoting a positive working environment through teamwork, communication and fully utilising everyone’s skills, this in turn, helps to make people feel valued. Organised educational visits and extra-curricular learning with a heavy risk assessment focus.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, I was instrumental in the strategic and directional planning process for the schools development plan, this involved researching, collating, presenting and implementing numerous progress reports to Governing bodies, as well as Government regulatory agencies. In my second year of teaching I was fast-tracked to IT leader within the school as I relished the challenge of changing the learning and teaching of IT within the school. As part of this role I created bespoke planning (with SEN differentiation) and assessment schemes of work for the IT within the school. Mentored NQTs with planning and teaching of IT in different year groups through effective modelling and peer coaching.
